Anwar Ali (CSA)

Anwar Ali (Chairperson, 2008)

Born in Bangladesh and educated in the UK. Anwar received his BSc (Hons) from Aston University, and has become a professional in the field of Information Technology with many years of service with international organisations including the likes of British Telecom, British Gas and Digital Equipment Corporation.

He has been voluntering his services for free to charitable organisations to enable them to benefit from technology. Anwar is now hoping to use his knowledge to return what he can to the land of his birth, to benefit the people and the economy.

Mohammed Kawsar (CSA)

Mohammed Kawsar (Executive Director, 2003)

Mohammed Kawsar is a Barrister at Law and was called to the Bar of England and Wales from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He completed his Bar Vocational Course and LLB (Hon’s) from The City University, London and University of London respectively. He was also awarded Masters and Bachelor degree in Anthropology from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. His multi facet academic backgrounds made him an expert in understanding complex multi-ethnic cultural condition and issues related to ethnicity, identity and globalization of social network. Furthermore, understanding other culture and gender issues are special field of interest of Mohammed Kawsar. He is proficient in research, institution building, program and resource development and management, as well as grant making. He is specialised in Legal, Health and Environmental issues. Mohammed Kawsar attained prudence in networking national and international organizations for collaboration and coordination.

Shila Roy (CSA)

Shila Roy (Chairperson, 2003-2007)

First Chairperson of CSA, was born in 1941. She completed M.A. in Education in 1968.

She was a social activist and got involved in various social and cultural organizations in Sunamganj. She was acting president of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad, Sunamganj. She was a teacher of a girls’ school. Shila Roy was the president of Udichi Shilpi Gosti, Sunamganj Zilla Sangsad and with her direct contribution and effort Udichi became leading organization of Sunamganj district. Shila Roy joined CSA in January 2003. She was well organized in management and program formulation. Shila Roy was prominent in contributing and guiding in gender issues. She is working on violence against women for several decades in Sunamganj.
